We decided to embark on this incredible journey with the desire to give back and make a difference in the community.
This organization is about Nahyelle Gilchrist. She was born on April 10th, 2009. Nahyelle entered foster care on June 19th, 2009 and was placed with Melonie on July 31st, 2009. Nahyelle transitioned between her birth mother and Melonie until May 23rd, 2010, then she returned to the Lanier home and remained. Nahyelle's adoption was finalized on Melonie's birthday, September 27th, 2011.
Melonie states, "I've had Nahyelle since she was 2 months old. She quickly became a part of our family and we have grown to love her unconditionally. We provide her with the love, support, and consistency that she needs in an environment in which she feels safe, both physically and emotionally. I was ready to adopt Nahyelle because she had become a vital part of our lives."
